Relaxation Therapy

Methods and techniques which help one to relax, release stress and anxiety and instill a state of calmness. The following are some techniques we work with at IAM Wellbeing.

Passive Muscle Relaxation:

Passive Muscle Relaxation is a guided relaxation technique focusing one’s awareness on relaxing their muscles slowly from head to toe or from one’s feet slowly up to the top of their head. This practice can be very peaceful and relaxing.

Meditation:

Meditation is awareness.  According to Merriam-Webster, meditation is the act or process of spending time in quiet thought.  There are many types of meditation. The following are just a few meditative practices one can engage in: Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction, Primordial Sound Meditation, Transcendental Meditation, Zen Meditation, Kundalini Yoga Meditation, guided meditation, walking meditation.

Affirmations:

According to Dr. Carmen Hara, if you believe the phrase you are what you think, then life truly stems from your thoughts.  But we cannot rely purely on your thoughts; we must translate thoughts into words and eventually into actions in order to manifest our intentions. This means we have to be very careful with our words, choosing to speak only those which work towards our benefit and cultivate our highest good.  Affirmations help purify our thoughts and restructure the dynamics of our brain so that we truly begin to think nothing is impossible.  The word affirmation comes from the latin, affirmare, originally meaning “to make steady, strengthen”.  During a deep state of relaxation a person can cancel a negative thought and consciously replace it with a positive affirmation. When a person claims a postive affirmation, by stating, feeling and acting on it, it has a greater chance of becoming reality.

Guided Imagery:

Guided Imagery is the process of being guided through peaceful and calming images to assist in relaxing mind and body and aid in one’s own healing process. It can be a visualization guiding one on journey to a calming, peaceful place through visual images.

Sound Therapy:

Sound Therapy has been an effective healing modality and used as a tool for healing for thousands of years treating physical and mental conditions.  Healing through sound is based on the premise that all matter is made up of specific vibrational frequencies.  Sound can change the vibratory characteristics of another object. In applying sound, one has the ability to heal the body and mind, by penetrating the cells in the body, along with the conscious and unconscious mind; bringing it back into a state of resonance and well-being.  There are many forms of sound healing.  A few are sound healing though chanting, drumming, singing bowls, tuning forks, rattle, and music.

Crystal Therapy:

Crystal Therapy, considered a part of energy, vibration science,  has been in existence for over five thousand years.  Crystal therapy can be used to help restore the body’s electromagnetic balance, thereby improving one’s health and well-being.  Acting as electromagnetic conductors, crystals carry vibrations which can interact with our electromagnetic system, helping to bring the body back to a place of balance and homeostasis.

Crystal therapy, also called crystal healing or gem therapy, uses crystals, each selected specific properties or wavelength, to treat a wide range of mental and physical conditions. This approach is based on the belief that the body has an energy field that can be influenced by a placement of crystals on specific body points.

Distance Healing:

Distance Healing is a method of healing that is practiced when the recipient is not physically present.  Distance healing works in a similar way to being in the presence of the healer. However, this method allows the recipient to receive and benefit from the healing process even if they are unable to be present due to illness and/or distance.

Distance Healing is based on the premise that everything is made of energy, vibrating at different rates, designating different manifestations of life.  We are all inter-connected energetically. A healer can work, with or without the physical form, and with pure energy by operating outside of the normal limitations of time and space. This allows the healer to send healing therapy to a person or energy pattern that is physically distant from them. Distance healing is a matter consciously connecting, transferring and balancing that energy.

Many of the healing modalities offered at IAM Wellbeing may be combined and offered through distance healing.  This healing method can be done at a set time for the recipient to receive the distance healing or done with the practitioner by use of phone.

Working with Violet Transmuting Light:

The violet transmuting light, or some refer to as the violet flame, is a higher frequency of energy that transmutes negative, lower frequency, blocked and stagnant energy into higher frequencies of energy, light and consciousness.  The violet light is the perfect balance of the divine feminine, pink, and the divine masculine, blue, thus violet. This healing energy transmutes and restores one back to it’s perfect vibrational blueprint, electron by electron. The violet flame, or transmuting light, fills the the spaces between our electrons and transmutes negative karma and stuck energy back into vibrant light and energy.  Working with this violet transmuting energy helps us to release the cause, core, effect, record and memory of that which no longer serves our highest good. This healing energy is invoked in healing sessions for individuals and also in meditations for world healing.
